The ingenuity of our prisoners has never been in doubt. But given the recent rash of jailbreaks in the country recently, one must also give a lot of credit to the people who man our prisons.

It is as easy as A B C. Simply take a piece of wood, thrust it to the back of a jailer and have him escort you to the exit -- just like Jay and Veeru did to the 'Angrezon ke zamaane ka jailer' in Sholay.

Asrani, it seems, had our jailers in mind while acting out the scene in which he asks half his men to go right, half left, and the 'rest' to follow him.

But to lay the entire blame on prison staff would be unfair. There are the structures that we call jails; buildings constructed during the British Raj and in a dilapidated condition.

How do our convicts prefer to stage their escapes?

Just keep these 'styles' in mind if you ever plan a jailbreak :-) though we hope that day never arrives.
