In the midst of some of the most expensive real estate in India, in an area dotted with skyscrapers, lies one of Mumbai's oldest heritage sites.

The Banganga Tank is part of the temple complex of Walkeshwar. Legend has it that the water in the tank is from the Ganga.

Lata! Lata! screeched Mithoo the parrot after receiving a sweet, part of offerings to Lord Shiva on Mahashivratri on Wednesday. Mithoo's owner is a fourth generation descendant of Nayars who live on the Banganga premises.
