Onathappan is coming!

For ten days, from August 28, the lush, prosperous state of Keralaam is positively overwhelmed with the joy of welcoming King Mahabali home.

Onam celebrates the golden age of this mythical Asura ruler, who returns from Paathalam, or the netherworld, to visit his people. It is believed that when Mahabali or Maveli ruled, Kerala was a Utopian land and everyone lived in happiness and equality.
