Raghu Rai salutes Henri Cartier-Bresson, the legendary photographer who passed away last week.
It is unfortunate Henri Cartier-Bresson, the pioneer of modern day photography, is no more.
He was a legend. The king of photography as we know it today.
He began taking pictures in the twenties when he was a young man.
At that time photography meant taking pictures which would look like paintings. Henri took a 35 mm camera and started taking pictures which were lively, vibrant and reflected the mood of the people he captured.
With the passage of time he developed the art of taking pictures and perfected it so much that he became the Master.
As told to Onkar Singh.
