Tell us more about your role.
I play Pinu Patel. He is about 37-year-old virgin. He has no love in his life. He's a nice, shy man. He owns a restaurant and is independent. He has two people -- Gul Panag and Anuj Chowdhary -- who love him. His dilemma is that he doesn't know whom he loves -- Gul or Anuj. Then we have his family who pressures him to get married.
Is it common to find people confused about their sexual preferences?
It depends on the situation. It is very common when you don't have love in your life -- be it with a man or woman [laughs]. You start wondering what is wrong with you.
How was it working with Parvathi Balagopalan?
As I said, when you have a great director with a great concept, 90 percent of your tension is over. She is a great visionary. It has been a wonderful learning process for me.
You have worked in many genres, many of them are comedies. How do you manage to pull off such varied characters?
Out of the films I have done, only Bheja Fry and Khosla Ka Ghosla are comedies. There might have been funny elements in my other movies but they weren't comedies.
People think I am a comedian but that's not true. They have this perception because I did a television show, which was funny. Because of more visibility, audience started taking me for a comedian. As far as pulling off roles is concerned, all the credit goes to the directors.
