Gulaal is part of the traditional rituals. Colour symbolises the passion. It can mean anything -- love, power or politics. Gulaal epitomises the colour of emotional violence.

What do you look for when you sign a film?

Firstly, the script and my character should pull me towards it. The second factor is the director, who should have magic! The producer must be sincere -- he should not look at the film only as business but must also try to make it a brilliant film. I should be able to see the sincerity otherwise all the work would go to drain, like it happened in Paanch. The money should be okay too -- I don't work for charity (grins).
