Some of the most successful 2008 releases have starred not so well-known actresses, introducing us a to whole new generation of rising stars.
While some have achieved success in Southern cinema -- like Asin and Genelia D'Souza -- some others got a new lease of life in their careers -- like Minissha Lamba. We take a look at how the 2008 hits helped the careers of these actresses.
Asin
Upcoming Film: London Dreams
Asin is already a big star down South, with many hits to her credit. She made a terrific debut opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini, one of the biggest hits of the year.
And it helped that Asin is a good actress as well.
After Ghajini, we will see her in Vipul Shah's London Dreams, with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. Word has it that she is also a strong contender for Yash Raj Films' next with Shah Rukh Khan. The other actress being considered is the hit queen Katrina Kaif.
