'Who wouldn't want Amitabhji in his film?'

What did you learn while working on CC2C?

I think I learnt to be comfortable with new technology. Earlier, I would get intimidated by it. But I was at the service of this huge project, and advanced technology was very important.

But getting used to it took a few days. Like we used a green screen and got the actors to perform before that. I felt quite naked directing those scenes.

You are a great admirer of Amitabh Bachchan. Would you be directing him in the near future?

Who wouldn't want Amitabhji in his film? I hope that we will work together soon. The role of Deepika's [Padukone] father in Chandni Chowk is very emotional. Amitabhji could have done great justice to it. But however great he is, he cannot be made to look like a Chinese (chuckles).

Directing this film and now promoting must be very exhausting. Will you take time off after its release?

(Laughs). I wish I could. But I'm starting my new film, Chandbhai, in February. It is an inspirational film about a director and a 14-year old boy. It is a small film, compared to Chandni Chowk. It has no special effects or songs that require hundreds of extras.
