Answering a question from a Sikh reporter, Akshay responded in Punjabi, sounding very earnest. "I've worked very hard in this film," he said, flashing his charming smile.
The film required Akshay to use his martial art skills, along with his recently discovered comic talent. "It is a semi-autographical film. I gave one year of my life to it. This man (Nikhil Advani, director) pushed me so much. I injured my back. I built my abs and removed my shirt on top of the Great Wall of China."
"Show us now," a female reporter yelled out from the back.
Akshay was somewhat embarrassed by the request. He responded in Hindi and Punjabi: "You didn't even pay the price of the ticket for the film."
But then he regained his sense of humour and added, "Okay fine, I'm a Punjabi. I'm not embarrassed. I can take my shirt off." But to the disappointment of the female reporter, he didn't undress.
