Shruthi had bagged the best actress awards in Karnataka as well as Tamil Nadu earlier.

This year, she has had two good films -- Avva and Akka Thangi. In both the films, she played an assertive woman, fighting against discrimination.

Her touching performance as the elder sister in Akka Thangi was the highlight of the film.
