India ecstatic at Slumdog's incredible win

India continued to welcome news of A R Rahman and Resul Pookutty's three Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire.

Family members and the film fraternity as well as Rahman's contemporaries joined in their praise for the Slumdog team.

Rahman won two Oscars -- Best Original Score and Best Origina Song, Jai Ho -- in Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, becoming the first Indian composer to strike gold at the annual Hollywood awards.

The award for Jai Ho was shared by Rahman and renowned lyricist Gulzar.

Resul Pookutty also walked away with the golden trophy for Best Sound Mixing.

The critically acclaimed film has also won an award for the Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Film editing each. Danny Boyle has been honoured with the Best Director award for Slumdog Millionaire.
