'Why do our films need the West's approval?'

Emraan Hashmi has never been one to follow industry rules in his career. So when we asked him which film would win at the Oscars this year, he did not give us the name every other Bollywoodwala is giving: Slumdog Millionaire. Instead, he voted for Brad Pitt-starrer The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

He also feels that Oscars are not the ultimate judges for Indian films. For him, the National awards and janta verdict holds far greater significance. He tells us why.
