Ramesh Arvind is soon coming out with his new Kannada film, Venkata In Sankata (Venkata In Trouble).
The actor who is popular with his series of comedy films is on a promotional spree like never before. The entire unit of Venkata In Sankata has criss-crossed many cities in Karnataka to promote the film.
In this interview to R G Vijayasarathy, Arvind speaks about the film in his inimitable style.
You went on to make Accident, a thriller just after directing two successful comedies -- Rama Shaama Bhaama and Sathyavaan Saavithri. Now you have again made a comedy. Do you enjoy making comedy films more or have you returned to tracks because of the commercial considerations?
I agree that comedy films are safer than other genres of films. But I took on Venkata In Sankata mainly because I had a fantastic story written by Thotapalli Madhu in hand. I think comedies are necessary in these times of recession. All are so stressful these days. I promise a complete entertainer to people of all classes. Making films that entertain for two hours is not an easy job.
