From lecturing to films

Actor Kishore has been the toast of the Kannada film industry from the time he was introduced by Murali in Kanti.

The actor was appreciated for his performance in Soori's Duniya and the recently released S Mahendar's Akka Thangi.

Kishore also made it big in Tamil with his debut film, Dhanush's Polladhavan. Now Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu and his performance as the Kabadi coach has been receiving wide appreciation all over Tamil Nadu.

The actor who is now busy in both Kannada and Tamil films is an English lecturer in a Bangalore College. He spoke to R G Vijayasarathy about Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu.

What was your initial reaction when the role of a kabbadi coach was offered to you?

I was a little surprised because I had already started working in a Kannada film where I was playing a Kabadi coach. But when Susindran narrated the script, I understood that both the films were different and my character in Vennila was on a different mould. Since there were no similarities in the role, I accepted the offer.
