With the Mumbai elections due on April 30, we spoke to some television actors and asked them about issues they think need to be addressed, and which politicians they will support.

Why do you think it's important to vote?

Being a citizen of this country, it's my right. I will be voting for the first time and want to choose the right candidate to take the city forward.

What are the issues that need to be tackled?

There are a lot of things. But I don't want to complain because I am voting for the first time. In spite of paying so much taxes, there is no proper security and development in the state.

Who is your favourite leader?

I will vote for [Independent candidate] Meera Sanyal. I have heard her talk; she looks intelligent and efficient. She knows what she is talking about. But I am confused because if I vote for an Independent candidate, it might help the Bharatiya Janata Party, not the Congress. I have heard from my elders and friends that it's not good to have a BJP government.
