Movie stars enter Karnataka politics
Only three people from the Kannada film industry are contesting the Lok Sabha elections this time, and they have been in politics for a long time. They are actor Ambareesh, actor CP Yogeeshwar and producer and former Chief Minister of Karnataka, H D Kumara Swamy.

The actor is contesting for the fourth consecutive time. He had won from the Mandya Lok Sabha Constituency by a huge margin of over two lakh votes as a Janata Dal candidate once and as a Congress candidate twice.
Ambareesh's campaign would be a star studded affair with many of his friends in the industry taking the pitch.
It will be the toughest battle for Ambareesh in his political career as his opponents are his one time friends Shivarame Gowda from the BJP and former Janata Dal Minister Cheluvaraya Swamy.
