This actress has been around in Telugu tinseldom for more than three and a half decades. She's acted in 200 plus movies. Beginning with Pandanti Kapuram way back in 1972, Jayasudha is still seen on the silver screen in 'mother' roles where she makes an impact like the ones in Amma Naana O Tamila Ammayi, Bommarillu and Kotha Bangaru Lokam.
Jayasudha's heydays were in the 1970s and 1980s when she ruled the Telugu film industry along with Jayaprada. An actress of substance, she has some good movies to her credit like Jyothi, Sivaranjani, Meghasandesham, Idi Katha Kadu, Premabhisekham, and so on. She has quite a few state awards to her credit. She is involved with charity work since the last few years.
Jayasudha has been given a ticket by the Congress Party for the Assembly polls from the Secunderabad Constituency after she joined the party rather recently. He agenda (if elected) is to take up the cause of women -- she did say that she would work for setting up a helpline for women subjected to domestic violence as well as fighting for the 33 per cent women's reservation. She plans to juggle films and politics.
