Plot: New York chronicles the impact of 9/11 on the lives of three Indians (John, Katrina, Neil) studying abroad and the impact it has on their friendship.

Pros: Filmmaker Kabir Khan has a knack for portraying tough issues with tremendous lucidity as witnessed in his earlier Kabul Express.

The impressively intense promos of New York promise this very clarity and sensibility as well.

Cons: Terrorism-theme movies aren't always a safe bet against an audience fed on a regular appetite of escapist fare.
