Ever since 23-year old Priya Mani acted in Ameer Sulthan's Tamil film, Paruthiveeran, accolades have been pouring in. First, she won the Best Actress Award at the 9th OSIAN Cinefan film festival for Asia and the Arab world. Paruthiveeran was also adjudged the best film there.
Soon she was chosen by the IFFI 2007 (India International Film Festival) to light the lamp at the inauguration in Goa last year. The latest feather in her cap is the Best Actress Award for her role in Paruthiveeran at the 54th National Film Awards for 2006.
