One Night @ Bollywood

Bollywood, constantly decrying the lack of writers, has decided to take up reading.

After Vishal Bhardwaj's magnificent Blue Umbrella and Mira Nair's warmly appreciated The Namesake, Bollywood producers and directors are now warming up to actually buying film rights from novelists.

It's an interesting time, and here are the next few book-to-movie releases coming up.

Atul Agnihotri's Hello

Chetan Bhagat's One Night @ The Call Centre was one of the fastest selling novels in recent history, bolstered by the success of his first novel, Five Point Someone.

The affordable books found an instant market in easily bored youth, and after Rohan Sippy gave up the film rights, Atul Agnihotri stepped up.

Sharman Joshi, Sohail Khan, Isha Koppikar and Gul Panag star in the main roles, but the big news is Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif making a cameo, with Khan playing Bhagat himself.
