'I cannot do the usual five songs in every film'

Priyanka Chopra has always had a blast at the box office during Diwali. Her earlier releases Aitraaz (2004) and Don (2006) fared quite well.

Will she be third time lucky with Madhur Bandharkar's Fashion, releasing this Diwali? "I hope so," Priyanka says. "We have worked hard to make a good film. I hope people like it."

Fashion sees Priyanka play a model, along with Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse.

The film is very crucial to Priyanka's career. All her 2008 releases so far -- Love Story 2050, Chamku, God Tussi Great Ho and Drona -- have been huge flops. Once a promising star, with big hits like Krrish and Aitraaz to her credit, Priyanka's career seems to be sliding down, thanks to her recent flops.

Ask her what is going wrong with her career, and Priyanka replies, "I have both hits and flops in my career. You never know which film will work and which will not. Each film comes with its own destiny.

"You have to take a gamble in your career," she adds. "I cannot wear saris and do the usual five songs in every film. I like playing different roles and doing films with different subjects."
