Raveena Tandon was born in Mumbai on October 26, 1974. The daughter of filmmaker Ravi Tandon and his wife Veena -- which explains the name -- she dropped out of college to make her Bollywood debut with Patthar Ke Phool in 1991. The film was a hit, and got her the Filmfare Lux New Face Award.
More successes followed, with Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi and Ziddi. With Aks and Satta, Raveena also won over critics, eventually winning the National Film Award for Best Actress with her performance in Daman.
Raveena may no longer be lead material, but she hasn't given up on the limelight entirely. Considering her move to the small screen, there may be a few surprises in store for her fans yet.
