As the lovable, warm-hearted Tyson, Raahul made a mark in his debut Telugu movie, Sekhar Kammula's Happy Days and wowed the audience.
Naturally he did not have to wait long for his second film, V N Aditya's Rainbow which released on October 2 (coincidentally the same day on which Happy Days was released in 2007).
Radhika Rajamani caught up with actor before his promotional tour of Andhra Pradesh. Excerpts:
Why did Rainbow appeal to you? Was it the fact that the character suffers from colour blindness -- an aspect which has not been touched upon before in Telugu cinema?
The first thing that touched me when I heard the story way back in November end last year was the fact that Aditya Sir came to me, a newcomer. He didn't care about the openings and that was very brave of him.
Yes, the colour blindness issue appealed to me as well as the climax. There is a love story and people felt that I could carry off the emotional scenes well.
The film deals with the industry -- the struggle of a girl to get into the industry. The director has highlighted this struggle -- what she goes through to make it big and how she deals with fame.
