In an industry that is starved of newcomers, who can get a good opening for their film at the box office, Himesh Reshammiya surprised everyone by making his debut film, Aap Kaa Surroor a blockbuster. Will he repeat his success with his second film, Karzzzz?
"This is the only question that everybody keeps asking me: Can I act?," Himesh says, modestly. "I can only say that I have worked hard and now it is up to the audience to decide my fate on October 17 [when the film releases]."
Karzzzz is the remake of Subhash Ghai's 1980 film, Karz, starring Rishi Kapoor, Simi Grewal and Tina Munim.
In the new version, Himesh plays Rishi's role, Urmila Matondkar takes over from Simi, and newcomer Shweta Kumar plays Tina Munim. The original film rights have been bought by T-Series, who has further spent Rs 27 crores to make the new film.
