How did you become a part of this show?
I have always been a very talkative and lively person. But I have never done stage shows. [Stand-up comedians] Kapil Sharma and Rajiv Takur convinced me to give an audition. I did, and got selected.
What were you doing before coming on this show?
I am a national level pistol shooter.
Where do you get the inspiration for your jokes?
I have created the character Lalli, which has become popular. Actually, Lalli is a girl who lives near my residence. My spoofs are based on real-life situations. I get ideas from books and by observing everything.
There are very few women stand-up comedians. How difficult is it for a woman to do comedy on stage?
Women do not lag behind in any way. All we have to do is overcome our inhibitions. If the content is good, there is no need to feel embarrassed about the jokes.
How do you cover your goof-ups or if the audience don't laugh at your joke?
I just look at Siddhuji or the tabla man and start talking about the costumes or something.
Which is more lucrative -- television or stage shows?
I think money is good in television. I want to do more comedy shows and saas bahu soaps.
