The female contestants of the ongoing Indian Idol 4 seemed promising. Now, it's time to take a look at the men competing for the title.
Bhanupratap (26)
Jaipur, Rajasthan
Profession/ Education: I am a professional singer, and sing for orchestras. I am a college dropout.
Background: My father is a policeman, my mother is a housewife. My older sister is a classical singer but she doesn't sing anymore. I haven't had training in singing, as my father wanted me to join the police force. I have travelled to many cities like Delhi and Mumbai as well as villages, and learnt the local style of singing.
I tried my luck in the first three seasons of Indian Idol but failed. But now, my father is happy. He understands how much I have struggled, and is going out of his way to help me -- he bought me a music system, and an IPod, showed my horoscope to some astrologers and did poojas for me.
Strongest competitor: Remo Ghosh and Kapil Thappa are charmers. Prashanjit Kosumbi and Rajdeep Chaterjee are good singers.
What will you do with the prize money if you win? I will learn classical singing. I will do charity.
