Poo (Flower) is director Sasi's new Tamil film for Moserbaer.
With differently made successful films like Rojakoottam and Dishyum behind him, expectations are high from Poo. More so because the story is based on a Tamil short story. He has made the film based on a literary work at a time it has become a rarity to make such films.
The film, which hits theatres on this Friday, stars Sasi's first hero, Srikkanth and Parvathi, a girl from Kerala. Over to Sasi:
At a time when films are not made based on literary works, you chose to make one based on a Tamil short story. Why did you choose this story for your film?
It doesn't matter to me whether an idea is taken from a short story or a novel or just a script. What I look for is a story that has human feelings and life in it.
What attracted me to this particular story was the beauty of the mind. After reading the story I wondered whether such a loving and innocent mind exists in this world? I decided there and then that I wanted to show that wonderful mind to all the Tamil audiences.
Whose mind attracted you, that of the hero or the heroine?
The heroine's.
