Is it an emotional story with humour woven in?
It's a simple cool film with good characterization and subject. There is emotion and subtle humour.
How did you get the idea for this story?
One of my friends, Abhijeet Agarwal suggested the title: a big fat love story but he didn't have a subject for it. The visual of a fat guy walking with a hot babe on the road inspired me to write Vinayakudu. This is the USP of the film. Then I wrote nine versions of the script. Anil Gudoor and Ramana Salva helped me on the script.
The idea originated before I worked on Anand as an assistant director. I tried for investors, and met Mr Prem Kumar and narrated the story to him. For various reasons, the project could not start. I had worked on seven versions of the script before I went back to Sekhar and worked on Happy Days. Mr Prem Kumar helped me a lot and gave me time to work on the script and subsequently I finished it.
