Sai Kiran Addivi, a protege of Sekhar Kammula who worked with him on Anand and Happy Days is stepping out on his own with his directorial Telugu debut Vinayakudu releasing on November 22.
Sai Kiran imbibed the love for writing from his parents (his mother is no more) who are writers. He also dabbled in documentaries for some time before he got into films. Sai Kiran talks about the film and much more on the eve of the film's release. Exceprts:
The posters of Vinayakudu show a fat guy Krishnudu with a hep girl Sonia. Is it their story?
Vinayakudu is all about a fat guy and how he meets a girl who is confident, arrogant and choosy. It's their love story.
Did you name the film Vinayakudu because of the fat hero?
I felt the title is appropriate for the subject. The story revolves around this fat guy and his feelings. There is no devotional element in the film.
