Watch out for Chitrangada!

Chitrangada Singh makes a comeback three years after Kal: Yesterday And Tomorrow and the critically acclaimed Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi.

Here, Chitrangada takes time out to talk to Patcy N about her latest film, Sorry Bhai, directed by Onir and starring Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani, Shabana Azmi and Sanjay Suri. Excerpts:

What is Sorry Bhai about?

Sorry Bhai is a family story. It is about a girl and a boy staying in Mauritius who fall in love and have a relationship with each other for 5 years. It is a steady relationship, which the girl thinks will translate into marriage, until the boy's family come to Mauritius. The girl meets her fiance's younger brother and they fall in love. That's the film's twist, and the where the whole funs starts.

What is your character in the film?

My character Aliyah is a girl next door. She is someone who is confused, emotional and slightly indecisive in the beginning of the film. In the second half, she emerges to be the toughest of the lot.

Are you like Aliyah in real life?

Yes. I think I am like the character Aliyah that I play in the film. When you play a certain character, you start to find similarities between you and the character so that it becomes easier to perform by the end of the shoot.
