'My worry was matching Kamal Sir's talent'

Bagging the film

It was when I was shooting Gowtham Menon's Vettayadu Vilayadu (which had Kamal Haasan as the hero) that I was offered Dasavathaaram. Actually it was Kamal Sir who recommended my name for Vettayadu... also.

It was the last day of shooting and that night, he told me that he was going to do a film where he would act as ten characters. Then he asked me whether I was interested in doing it. I was surprised at the offer and without any hesitation, I said, I would love to.

It was only after I came home that I got scared. Kamal Sir in ten characters! How was I going to match his talent? That was my worry. Then I started planning. I planned every minute detail about each character. I prepared a story board for the entire film.
