I took a break from television for a year and a half and started giving auditions. Nagesh was looking out for someone new for his film. I auditioned and got the part. I was quite shocked. I had to call him the next day to confirm if I had really got it!

What was your reaction when you found out that your co-star was John Abraham?

It was a great feeling. To work in a Nagesh film, opposite John... I felt on top of the world.

How do you find Nagesh as a director?

He is a brilliant director. He knows what he wants it. He also gives you the freedom to do what you want.

He is very focused on the sets -- no jokes, no pranks. Apart from that, he is very helpful.
