Shaurya also stars Rahul Bose, Javed Jafferi, Kay Kay Menon and Deepak Dobriyal. The film is about two army officials, one of who is charged with treason and killing a fellow officer and is being tried for court-martial. But he does not defend himself as he holds a deep secret.
"It is a story of justice, honour, faith and self-belief. Shaurya is about discovering your personal courage and implementing it in your life, where friendships are tested in the battle for truth and justice," Minissha says. The courtroom drama is said to be inspired from the Hollywood film, A Few Good Men, starring Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson.
Shah Rukh Khan will make a special appearance at the end of the film and Rozza Catalano -- better known as Saif Ali Khan's ex-girlfriend -- will be seen in an item number.
"I play Kavya Shastri, an investigative journalist, who is the moral force of the film," Minissha reveals. "The film deals with court-martial and as a journalist, she believes it's her job to see that justice is done."
Few know that Minissha aspired to be a journalist herself. "If not an actress, I would've been a journalist," she says. "In a way, Shaurya helped me to live my childhood dream.
"I was emotionally drawn to the tagline -- 'It takes courage to make things right,'" she adds. "It takes a lot of courage to support the 'right' and expose the 'wrong'. Shaurya gave me this opportunity. The script is intriguing and so is my role. I always choose films that I believe in and wish to be a part of."
