How did Mohanlal become a part of the project?
We were toying with the idea of theatre for quite a while. We had discussed about the possibilities with several people. When I told Mohanlal about this idea soon after he did Karnabharam, he was very excited and wanted to be part of it.
The story stands away from the absurd theatre and we had decided that both our roles would have an importance of their own. Also, we wanted the drama to go on for two hours and to entertain the audience with music, dance, performances and a message. In the story, though Keechaka is killed by Bheema, both of them are losers when it comes to love.
How often will Chayamukhi be performed on stage?
We are planning for a show each, in April and May. There are plans to stage the play at least twice a month from then on.
