Ganesh takes on Mammootty, Rajni, SRK...

Malayalam film Katha Parayumbol scripted by Srinivasan has become a kind of cult film in India now.

Three versions of the film (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) are all lined up for release this year. What's more, there is a chance that one more version may also make an appearance later in the year!

The Malayalam original tells the story of Balan, a poor barber ( Sreenivasan), his ever smiling and beautiful wife, Meena and their three children. Enter the superstar of Malayalam cinema (Mammootty) who happened to be Balan's school mate.

The superstar in this simple film of friendship devoid of melodrama is the well-written script by Sreenivasan. Also, the highlight of the film was the last 30 minutes where Mammootty simply sizzled.

Text: R G Vijayasarathy
