'Mere Baap Pehle Aap is the funniest film I have ever done'

The last time we saw Akshaye Khanna was when he was scheming against his onscreen brother Saif Ali Khan in the twisted thriller, Race.

Now, we will see his comic side, as he teams up with Priyadarshan in his comedy, Mere Baap Pehle Aap. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Archana Puran Singh and Genelia D'Souza.

Nithya Ramani caught up with the actor to know more.

What is Mere Baap Pehle Aap about?

As the title suggests, it talks about a son who wants to get his father married off before he does. It talks about the relationship between a father and son. It's not only a question of getting his father married but also about putting his father's happiness before his own.

What really drove me to this script was the unusual relationship they share. Making a comedy is easy, but making it with a heart is special. That is the USP of this film. I have done a few comedies in my career but I have never done a film with a heart.
