You didn't mind playing the mother of three children?
I have played a mother before in a couple of movies. But I never expected to play the mother of such grown-up children. Sreenivasan told me that I am playing the mother of three, but when I saw the person who was supposed to play my daughter I was really shocked.
My first thought was whether I could really do justice to the role. Would I look like the mother of such a big girl? Would I be able to do it?
But then Sreenivasan allayed my fears. He told me not to worry.
Could you talk about the character?
She's sweet, flexible and innocent. I am sure every man would want to have a wife like that. Nobody would think I am playing the mother of three grown-up children.
Did you have to do any homework on the role or was it based on the brief given by Sreenivasan?
No, I didn't do any homework. It's not a complicated character.
How was it acting with Sreenivasan?
I have already worked with him in the Malayalam movie so the comfort level was already there.
What about Mammootty?
I've worked with him before too. The only thing which was different was that I wasn't paired with him. I was okay with that because in Malayalam there's nothing like the heroine has to be paired with the hero. The script, character and screenplay is given preference.
In the picture: Meena, Pashupathy and the children in a still from Kuselan.
