Mr India's horror debut

Rajneesh Duggal is very brave indeed. The newcomer is making his acting debut in Vikram Bhatt's horror film 1920, which also stars another newcomer, Adah Sharma. The film is slated to release on September 12.

Duggal may be a new face in Bollywood, but he's a well-known face in the fashion world. A successful model, Rajneesh bagged the Grasim Mr India title in 2003.

The Delhi-based model tells Nithya Ramani why he chose 1920 to make his debut.

Tell us about yourself.

I have done my graduation in Business Administration in Delhi. While I was giving my final year exams, Rashmi Virmani [fashion choreographer and producer] asked me if I was interested in modelling. I decided to give it a shot. I have done almost 60-70 shows for her.

After that, I tried my luck in the Grasim Mr India pageant. I told myself that I would go ahead with the entertainment business only if I won. Luckily, I did. I went to London to compete for the international title; I came second. I was given a chance to stay back and work there but I preferred returning to India. I moved to Mumbai in 2003 and appeared in some music videos, including Chod do Aanchal by Bombay Vikings.

What kind of roles would you like to do?

I would love to do intense roles. But I will never do a multi-starrer film.
