Bappa Lahiri, the son of disco king Bappi Lahiri, has come out of his father's shadow to make a name for himself. He turned music director with Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyan last year.
Bappa has also turned his attention to television, and lent his voice for the title track of Star One's reality dance show, Zara Nachke Dikha.
He spoke to Rajul Hegde about his work and much more. He also took us back in time, as he sang some of his father's hit songs.
Tell us about your Zara Nachke Dikha experience.
The title track of Zara Nachke Dikha is a foot-tapping number. It's a fusion of hip-hop and bhangra. My focus has always been on composing, but I have got some great singing offers too.
This is the first time I have sung for television. I have sung with Mauli Dave [a finalist of the reality show SaReGaMaPa).

In the video: Bappa sings a Bappi Lahiri classic, Chalte chalte from the film, Chalte Chalte.
