2008: An assorted medley of Telugu fare

Barring Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu, most of the heroes have had releases in the first half of 2008, which have gotten mixed reviews at the box office.

Noticeable among the crop of films are Gamyam and Mister Medhavi, which have received critical acclaim and some amount of commercial success.

Dasavathaaram, though a Tamil film seems to be faring well in Andhra Pradesh. Come to think of it, most of Kamal Haasan's films have had a good run in the state.

Be that as it may, here are the top five so far.

Gamyam
Director: Krish (Radhakrishna Jagaralamudi)
Cast: Sharwanand, Allari Naresh, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Rao Ramesh

Gamyam is perhaps the most refreshing movie of this year. Krish (Radhakrishna Jagaralamudi) is making waves with this sweet, yet 'profound' tale.

A good technical crew of Nagaraju Gnadham (writer), Rajiv Nair (art director), Hari Anumolu (camera) and Shravan (editor) made Krish's vision come alive on the big screen.

A road film, Gamyam recently completed 100 days in the state and is now being remade in other languages like Tamil, Kannada and Bengali. Krish will also be directing the Hindi version later next year.
