Director Shimit Amin's spirited take on hockey, integrity and sportsmanship is a knock-out experience. But this scene is super special. Here's why.
Coach Kabir Khan's (Shah Rukh Khan) first meeting with the ladies he has been appointed to train isn't exactly back-slapping stuff. Put off by the girls introducing themselves as 'ABC from XYZ state', he refuses to acknowledge anything remotely regionalistic.
"I am the coach of Indian National Women's Team. Mujhe na states ke naam sunayi dete hain, na dikhayi dete hain. Sirf ek naam sunayi deta hai I-N-D-I-A," he makes it crystal clear to the headstrong hockey maidens.
The wonderful patriotism in SRK's no-nonsense tone is both significant and stellar.
