
The ones the Academy ignored
Even as we make our predictions for the Oscars, we decided to look at a few films that have unfairly been left out in the cold, without even a single nomination. It makes us feel sorry for the Academy, in their stubborn refusal to acknowledge greatness.
Lust, Caution
Considered by many as Ang Lee's crowning glory -- yes, I'm aware those are fighting words -- this is a sprawling spy thriller with the pace of a paperback and alarmingly raw sexuality. Lee, the film and actress Wang Tei should have all been nominated.
