Why you should wait for Wanted

This Friday, India sees the nationwide release of Timur Bekmambetov's Wanted, a wildly-stylised action film featuring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, and more special effects than it has bullets. And it has plenty of bullets.

Here's why you should book tickets:

1. It has nothing to do with the comic

Timur Bekmambetov's film has a very faint resemblance with Mark Millar's crackling six-issue comic book miniseries.

The comics are about a young loser being picked out of his cubicle and told he's an assassin, after which he embarks on a life of supervillainy.

The Hollywood project makes up some good-guy malarkey about how they only assassinate the evil, and drops several characters from the comic book -- like the memorable Shit-Head, a character made out of the excrement of the 666 most evil men in history. Yeah, read the comic.
