Meet Vikram Bhatt's new heroine

Watching the promos of Vikram Bhatt's latest horror movie, 1920, we can't help but notice the pretty young actress who goes by the name, Ada Sharma.

The newcomer is pitted against another newcomer, Rajneesh Duggal in the horror movie. Nithya Ramani chatted with the pretty actress for more on the film. Excerpts:

What is your background? How did you enter films?

I am born and brought up in Mumbai. As a child I had many ambitions. I thought if I got in to acting I would be able to fulfill all my wishes. My father is in the merchant navy and my mother is a yoga instructor. I finally decided that I wanted to be an actor.

I am a trained kathak dancer. Apart from that I do Malkem, gymnastics and yoga. I cannot go to a gym to work out there because I cannot follow that regime. I do a lot of dancing which keeps me fit.

How did your parents react to your decision to join films?

They have always been very supportive and always allowed me to do what I wanted. They want me to be happy and they are open to my decisions as long as I am happy.

How did 1920 come by?

I went for a lot of auditions but nothing materialised. Then I saw the ads for this movie in the papers. I went for the audition and was selected. It felt like I was destined for this role and the film. I wanted to do a period film all my life.

What is 1920 about?

It is an unexplored territory. I would call it a period supernatural film. It is a spiritual love story. It is a mixture of romance and horror.
