Phoonk makes money

Ram Gopal Varma's Phoonk turned out to be a surprise package at the Box Office. Being very low priced, it's excellent initial is enough to rate it as a hit.

On the other hand, Venus' Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam is poor on all counts.

The other release, UTV's Mumbai Meri Jaan despite winning a lot of critical acclaim, could not result in the same at the BO.

Meanwhile, despite good collections, Singh Is Kinng's high cost has proved to be a deterrent for the distributors -- except in Delhi and Punjab -- to make profit on the film.

Trade analyst Vinod Mirani gives the box office verdict.
