Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic
Director Kunal Kohli goes the Disney way with his upcoming family entertainer about four orphans and a magical angel. The introduction goes something like this:
Vashisht, 9 -- a no-nonsense kid.
Aditi, 7 -- a little lady who reads Harry Potter.
Iqbal, 7 -- a sardar boy with a pet cat, Sher Singh.
Avantika, well, her age is Class I A, and the cute kiddo loves her doll and dog.
The children complain about a guy named Ranbir Talwar, the object of their abomination, someone they have been wanting to meet for the past four years to execute revenge. Why? We do not know.
'Ranbir Talwar, hum aa rahein hain' (Ranbir Talwar, here we come!) declare the foursome in a threatening tone with their suitcases packed (presumably with the intention of moving in). The guy, of course, turns out to be a strict and staid Saif Ali Khan in glasses.
"We don't want to live with you," screams Vashisht.
"Same here! If it weren't for the judge's orders...," Saif leaves his angry sentence incomplete.
Next, Rishi Kapoor's voice-over talks about how life is full of bumpy moments and hopeless tears. And to be freed from this misery, we all need some support, love and 'thoda' magic.
Enter angel-in-white, Rani Mukerji cycling past hundred clouds on a rainbow-striped lane to descend on earth.
Here's wishing a fairy-tale ending for this one at the box-office.
