Kamal, Jackie bring the house down

Friday saw the road leading to Chennai's Nehru Stadium lined with posters of Kamal Haasan's magnum opus, Dasavatharam. There were also pictures of martial arts star Jackie Chan and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M Karunanidhi.

The day saw the audio release of the Tamil biggie, which has been produced by Oscar Ravi Chandran and directed by K S Ravi Kumar.

There was drama on the streets as fans, visitors and journalists were pushed and shoved, as they tried to enter the stadium. At one point, the police resorted to lathi charge as well.

Apparently, the stadium, which had a capacity of 20,000 people, was full to almost twice its capacity.

Inside, of course, presented a different scene. An ever-smiling Jackie Chan needed constant support from his 'dear sister, sexy and beautiful friend' Mallika Sherawat. She clung to him throughout, and helped him out, as he laboured to pronounce Tamil names with great difficulty.
