Krazzy item numbers steal Ajay's show

It was an irony of sorts.

Ajay Devgan's critically acclaimed directorial debut, U Me Aur Hum had an average response while Krazzy 4, despite it's poor content, had a good opening, thanks to the publicity generated by its item numbers.

U Me Aur Hum

Cast: Ajay Devgan, Kajol.
Director: Ajay Devgan.
Good performances

Abrupt start. Devgan decidedly has some way to go as a director, especially visually.

Number of weeks: New.
BO Verdict: Poor opening.


Krazzy 4

Cast: Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Suresh Menon, Rajpal Yadav, Juhi Chawla and Dia Mirza.
Director: Jaideep Sen.
Item numbers by Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan

Excessive slapstick elements.

Number of weeks: New.
BO Verdict: Good opening.



Cast: Rahul Bose, Kay Kay Menon, Minissha Lamba and Javed Jaffery.
Director: Samar Khan.
Good performances

Weak and oversimplified ripoff of Hollywood film, A Few Good Men.

Number of weeks: 1.
BO Verdict: Flop.



Cast:Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Sheetal Menon, Simone Singh.
Director: Pawn Kaul.
Plenty of steamy scenes, sexy women and gorgeous men.

Too many twists in the plot.

Number of weeks: 1.
BO Verdict: Flop.


Khuda Ke Liye

Cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Shaan and Iman Ali.
Director: Shoaib Mansoor.
Tackles a bold and controversial theme, which attacks Islamic fundametalism in a subtle way.values.

Bad production

Number of weeks: 1.
BO Verdict: Flop.


One Two Three

Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Manoj Pahwa, Sameera Reddy, Tanisha, Esha Deol, Neetu Chandra
Director: Ashwani Dheer.
Tusshar Kapoor.

Terrible comedy, poor direction.

Number of weeks: 2.
BO Verdict: Flop.


Love Songs: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Cast: Jaya Bachchan, Om Puri, Shahana Chatterjee.
Director: Jayabrato Chatterjee.
Sensitive film, good performances.

Bad music.

Number of weeks: 2.
BO Verdict: Flop.



Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Sameera Reddy.
Director: Abbas-Mustan.
Katrina's stylish sexiness; Anil Kapoor's screen presence.

Unoriginal, over-twisted plot; badly written and executed.

Number of weeks: 3.
BO Verdict: Hit.


Black & White

Cast: Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Anurag Sinha, Aditi Sharma.
Director: Subhash Ghai.
Good intent, fine performances, restrained effort.

Awkward romantic track, some overdone cliches.

Number of weeks: 4.
BO Verdict: Flop.


Jodhaa Akbar

Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Poonam Sinha, Ila Arun, Nikitin Dheer, Sonu Sood.
Director: Ashutosh Gowariker.
Hrithik's terrific performance, awesome music.

Much too long, Gowariker tries to tackle too many aspects of Akbar's life and does not do justice to any.

Number of weeks: 6.
BO Verdict: Average.
