The music launch of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya was an emotionally charged event, considering Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and even the director himself broke down.
Anil and Rishi were moved to tears when they saw their children, Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, respectively, make their first public appearance together on Saturday. "I didn't want to reveal the faces of Sonam and Ranbir," Bhansali said, tearfully. "They are like my children. So is Saawariya. Now, I feel my children are leaving me and coming to face the public."
The youngsters make their debut with Saawariya, which will be released on November 9 -- the same day as Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, starring Shah Rukh Khan and another debutant, Deepika Padukone.
While a blushing Ranbir promised to work hard, Sonam credited her father for her success. "My dad will always be centerstage. I am here only because of him," she said.
But it was Salman Khan who made people laugh by taking a dig at Shah Rukh Khan. Asked how he felt working in Saawariya, Salman said, "I got a chance to work because Aamir (Khan) and Shah Rukh refused to do the role."
An emotional Bhansali praised Salman: "If Salman hadn't agreed to do Khamoshi with me, there would be no Sanjay Leela Bhansali today."
High praise indeed. Watch this video for more!
