Manjari Fadnis
Age: 23
My origin: Being an Army officer's daughter I have been all over the country. However, the last few years my family has been living in Pune.
My entry in MS: My model-coordinator was responsible for that. He showed my pictures to MS casting members and very soon I was called for an audition. I got the part.
Role in MS: I play Maya Chandu, a strong, independent corporate woman. Her success is the envy of all men around her and the main reason for failed relationships.
My first job: was a film with Sunny Deol -- Rok Sako To Rok Lo
Shooting with the MS gang: felt like a picnic. I remember this scene with Amruta (who plays a boisterous and flirtatious girl) where she invites me on the dance floor in a very suggestive way. We're are not lovers or anything and she is just teasing me, but it was immensely awkward acting the scene. Everything about it was funny yet uncomfortable.
Then there was Vir (Das) who made us laugh with his stand-up jokes.
My struggling years: I did my first film with Planman Pictures and they have been taking care of me ever since. After my first film I was out of work for two years. I took the time to groom myself. My contract with Planman continued and I have been on their payroll, which gives me a sense of security. I am not exclusively tied up with them, so this is an ideal situation for me.
Future films: include Planman Pictures' I am 24 with Rajat Kapur and Aamir Khan's Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na opposite his nephew, Imraan Khan.
